Halloween in September? You heard that right! Time has no meaning right now, so why shouldn’t we get to start Halloween two months early? On September 7th (formerly Labour Day), Cloudscape is running a super spooky Halloween spectacular, entirely online. We have a number of ghoulish events planned, and you’re welcome to join us! Unless you’re too scared!
September 7th, PST:2:00 Exquisite Corpse (on Google Meet )
Meet on Google Meet. We will provide a Photoshop document with three spaces for drawing the head, body, and legs of a spooky character. After 15 minutes of drawing one section, hide what you’ve drawn by turning on the layer that covers it, and put it in a Google Drive folder so another participant can take it and add the next part. No peeking until everyone is done!
3:00 Collaborative Ghost Comics (on Aggi.io)
Do you like ghost stories? Here’s your chance to share one. Meet on Aggi.io, a site where participants can all draw in one space together. Work together to draw a one page comic of a spooky ghost story that you come up with together on the spot.
4:00 Costume Contest (on Google Meet)
Nobody has time to make a costume before September 7th. Unless you’re our judge for the contest Kris Sayer, who’s already got all the costumes she needs. You don’t need to do any prep work for this contest. Simply show up with a selfie, and then spend 45 minutes using the drawing program of your choice to draw yourself a costume. The winner gets to be the only winner of a Halloween contest anywhere for at least a month!
5:00 Monster Mashup
At the start of the event, all participants will be given a pop culture character and a Halloweeny prompt at random. Your challenge, then, is to mash the two together without looking up any photo reference. Be creative and have fun, and share what you’ve drawn at the end of the hour.
