Local comics publisher, the Publishing Eye, is currently in the middle of its kickstarter for The Deliverer graphic novel. The Deliverer is a satirical post-apocalyptic action graphic novel set in Vancouver. In the remnants of a narcissistic society, survivors are force-fed on tabloid journalism and in perpetual entertainment overload. The protagonist is a pizza deliverer sent in a quest to rediscover his humanity and who will have to overcome many outrageous obstacles placed in his way by the vestiges of this dying society.

It’s that time of year again! True to tradition, we at Cloudscape Comics are releasing our annual comics anthology; this year, we are proud to present Waterlogged – Tales from the Seventh Sea. Prepare yourself for a gorgeous hardcover tome printed in blue & black and featuring over 30 different artists from British Columbia!
Our fundraiser has begun! To pre-purchase the book and avail yourself of numerous other Cloudscape loot, take a gander at our indiegogo campaign (now with real video!). Also, stay tuned to our facebook and tumblr pages for artist spotlights and previews!
Waterlogged is overflowing with all sorts of nautical goodness: explorers, kraken, pirates, mermaids, naval officers, ghosts, and more can all be found between the pages. Living as we do on North America’s rainy northwest coast, the sea is always on our artists’ minds. Each story is a creator’s unique response to our great blue neighbour.
Filled with beautiful seafaring tales, the collection boasts works from such fantastic artists as Sam Logan (Sam & Fuzzy), Angela Melick (Wasted Talent), Nina Matsumoto (Yokaiden, Simpsons, Futurama), Colin Upton (Postmodern Mini-Comics), Gabriel Frizzera, Lucy Bellwood (Baggywrinkles), Jonathon Dalton (A Mad Tea-Party), Laura Bifano, Jeff Ellis (Teach English in Japan) and many others.
Thank you for your continued support and interest in local indie comics!
As the ultimate expression of our fundraiser for Giants of Main Street, we’re going to have a 24-hour comic jam at the home of our esteemed founder Jeff Ellis. The jam starts at 8:00 tonight and continues until 8:00 tomorrow.
Watch the cream of Vancouver comic artists draw, create, discuss, argue, and go slowly insane over a 24-hour period at 24-Hour Comic Jam.
Giants of Main Street, Cloudscape’s sixth anthology, is almost ready to go to press, and so we are currently raising funds to pay for the book’s printing. If you wish to help support our latest anthology, then you can do so by either by donating money directly to Cloudscape (handing it to Jeff Ellis, Jonathon Dalton, or Christine Vivier) or by purchasing books and art created by various Cloudscape members. Various Cloudscape creations can be bought from the Cloudscape Shop at Etsy as well as from Cloudscape’s IndieGoGo campaign. For discerning connoisseurs of independent comics, libraries of previous Cloudscape books and the contributors’ own artistic pursuits can also be purchased at Indigogo.
